This BenRiach single cask has been bottled by The Caskhound. The whisky matured for 14 years and received a 333-day finish in a fresh bourbon cask. A total of 285 bottles have been bottled.
Official tasting notes
Nose: Fruity floral entry with tinned peaches, the scent of dried flowers and pipe tobacco, vanilla followed by honey sweetness and overripe fruit.
Palate: Creamy with cane sugar & wild honey, bright fruits, caramel and granola with nuts, then a slight dryness that fades into the bitterness of a crème brûlée crust.
Finish: medium long, initially chocolaty flavours that gradually become bitter and then turn into oak spiciness

The distillery Benriach is located south of the city Elgin next to the distillery Longmorn and therefore belongs to the Highlands. It was founded in 1898 and already closed down again in 1900, before it was re-opened not until 65 years later. As one of a few of Scotlands distilleries it has its own malting floors. Since 2008 Glendronach and Glenglassaugh belong to the Benriach Distillery Co. Ltd.
