The 25-year-old version of the Arran Distillery, founded in 1995, is available in smaller quantities from time to time. The whiskey matured in bourbon and sherry casks and is bottled at 46%. In the aroma, the Arran offers 25 notes of fruitcake with toasted almonds and cinnamon. This is joined by a juicy spiciness of oranges and tangerines, which melds with manuka honey, muscovado sugar, baked apricots and a notable note of white pepper.

The distillery Arran is located on the head of an island that owns the same name and lays between the western coast of Scotland and the peninsula Kintryre. The island Arran has good access from Glasgow by car and ferry. The distillery started producing in 1995 on time delay, because of a pair of Golden Eagles that hatched right where the distillery was supposed to be build. It was built by Harold Currie, who had been very successful in the whisky industrie and even was director of Chevas. With building the distillery a big dream for him came true.
