Finished in the sweet Pedro Ximénez sherry barrel: the Ardmore 2008/2022. Thanks to Andalusian barrel magic, the Highlander unfolds peat smoke as well as dark fudge and raisins.

Tasting Notes:
Nose: Rather restrained peat smoke with the sweetness of dark fudge and raisins, plus a hint of cocoa.
Palate: Creamy, with strong peat smoke right at the start, complemented by dark fudge, dark chocolate, raisins and crispy rye crispbread.
Finish: Long, with sweet, chocolatey peat smoke.

The distillery Ardmore is located south of Huntley in Kennethmont next to the railway that connects Aberdeen and Inverness. Sometimes it is stated that it lays in the Speyside and other times in the eastern Highlands. It was built in 1890 by the company Wm Teacher and Sons. Since 1978 Ardmore owns eight stills. Compared to other distilleries the history of this one was without any troubles. It was property of the founders for a long time, since 2005 it belongs to Jim Beam.
