Im Jahre 1852 wurde die Destille von Thomas Pattison \u00fcbernommen und noch im selben Jahr geschlossen. 2008 gab es Pl\u00e4ne von Bruichladdich Octomore wieder zu er\u00f6ffnen, die allerdings nicht verwirklicht wurden. Auch er wird aus 100 % Scottish-Mainland-Concerto-Gerste mit 108,2 ppm gebrannt. Die Reifung erfolgte jedoch in einem Mix aus Second-Fill-Wein- und Second-Fill-Ex-Bourbon-F\u00e4ssern. Das Finishing erfolgte in First-Fill-Cognac-F\u00e4ssern. Dieses Trio bildet die Basis f\u00fcr einen \u00fcberaus komplexen wie eleganten Single Malt Scotch Whisky mit Aromen, die an Muskatnuss, getoastete Eiche und Karamell erinnern.
